Fujitsu plans to make paper a thing of the past with a new bendy electronic paper that can store and display images without the need to be connected to a power supply.

The electronic paper, which the company hopes to have in the shops sometime between next year features an image memory function that enables “continuous display of the same image without the need for electricity”.

Fujitsu is hoping that the new technology will be used for operating manuals, restaurant menus or information that is updated on a regular basis.

We believe a great solution for the paper would be to enable you to take pocket-lint with you on the train, loading up a series of stories across a small booket and then recharging them the following day.
