Clocky alarm clock promises drive by waking

Trouble getting up in the morning? A new alarm clock designed by scientists at MIT university in America is sure to make snoozing a thing of the past. The clock called Clocky by rolling off the bedside table and rolling away once the snooze button has been pressed, bumping mindlessly into objects on the floor until it eventually finds a spot to rest. Minutes later, when the alarm sounds again, the sleeper must get up out of bed and search for it.

According to the scientists who created the shag piled device this ensures that the person is fully awake before turning it off.

Those thinking that it will end up in the same place every day will be annoyed to find out that the clock has an internal processor helps it find a new hiding spot every time.

Unfortunately the clock is still only an academic research project and is not commercially available at the moment.

We'll keep you posted.
