BlackBerry users experiencing problems

BlackBerry servers in US go down

18 April 2007 17:54 GMT / By Ryan Haynes

Last night through most of today BlackBerry users across the States and Canada could not access any information.

The network failure across North America has now been restored; it was originally expected to have hit most of the Western hemisphere. It could explain why any contacts you had across the ocean could not be contacted.

There are suggestions that with 8 million global users the network has reached near capacity, but Research In Motion is currently investigating the reason for the failure.

Emails sent during the outage will still be taking time to be delivered and continue to cause problems in the meantime for the service and users. It was mainly email that experienced the problem but many users could not connect with the Internet.
