Boots launches mobile phone printing service

Boots has announced that it will become the first UK retailer to offer its customers a direct to store camera phone printing service.

Teaming up with Pixology and Nokia the service will allow users of the Boots Pix2Print service to print out photos taken with their camera phone. Customers can take pictures with their Nokia camera phone and immediately send them to their local Boots store over the mobile network. They then receive a text message when the photos are ready for collection at the store.

Details are thin however on the cost of the service or whether the service will work with other manufacturers handsets

Initially a pilot scheme encompassing 10 stores, it is envisaged that the service will experience increased pick-up as the image quality provided by camera phones continues to improve.

Participating stores will be Coventry, Kingston Upon Thames, Leamington Spa, Birmingham, Brierley Hill, Brighton, Huddersfield, Derby, London - Liverpool Street Station, Leicester Fosse Park.
