Ricoh has launched the Caplio RZ1 a 4.0 megapixel digital camera with 3x optical zoom lens in a 25mm super slim body aimed it believes at the fashion conscious.
The cameras also features a 1cm macro technology as well as an AF target shift function that allows the user to pan around the image and locate the desired focus point with the operation of a button instead of moving the camera. In telemacro mode, the cameras built-in flash helps for shots as close as 16cm highlights objects while protecting against any unwanted whiteout effects to ensure sharp, clear macro shots.
Interestingly the camera comes with three power source options. In addition to the long-life lithium ion rechargeable battery (optional) or the AC adapter (optional), the Caplio RZ1 features the unique ability to switch to AA size alkaline batteries or nickel metal hydride batteries
Ricoh are stating a 500 image battery life between recharges when using the lithium ion rechargeable battery, and up to 200 images when using AA alkaline batteries.
The Caplio RZ1 will be available in retail from September 2004 priced at £149.99
