Dido, Britney & Outkast are among the first to screen on a new mobile video jukebox announced on the 3 network. The company, who has teamed up with record lable BMG will bring full-length music videos to UK subscribers to the service.
The new video jukebox service will see 3 customers able to choose from a selection of the latest music videos to watch on their 3 handsets.
The service launches on 2 August with a range of full-length videos from BMG's roster of major artists such as; Outkast, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Will Young and Dido.
3 customers will be able to access videos released four to six weeks in advance of the single launch with some artists choosing to air their latest videos on 3's video jukebox before anywhere else.
However, there is a catch, and videos will be priced at £1.50 and will be available to stream (i.e. play once) or download to the handset.
3, also plans to offer an unlimited content option priced at £10 per month.
The most popular videos will be presented in a music video chart, which will be updated each week.
3's new music video service will be complemented by the introduction of new music show presented by DJ Zane Lowe. Zane's show - ‘Revolution' - is a weekly round-up of the musical roots or inspiration behind an artist that's currently topping the charts.
