Canon launches the CanoScan LiDE 35

Canon has announced a new entry level scanner to its CanoScan LiDE range - the CanoScan LiDE 35. The key features of the new scanner are a 38mm thick body that offers 1200 x 2400 dpi at 48-bit colour depth. The scanner also features QARE Level 2 dust and scratch removal, promises fast scan speeds and a software package. Addiitonally the new scanner is powered via its USB2.0 cable forgoing the need of a separate power supply.

Canon are boasting a nine second preview scan on the CanoScan LiDE 35 and a Multi-Photo mode that promises to save time by creating individual files from a single pass scan of multiple photos.

Four ‘EZ' buttons can be individually configured to perform commonly used functions, including scanning straight to a PDF file, scanning direct to the printer (digital copy function) or scanning automatically to a ready-to-go email attachment.

The CanoScan LiDE 35 is compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and MAC OSX. The CanoScan LiDE 35 will be available from August 2004 for around £59
