CeBIT – TomTom showcase TomTom Go and PocketPC Software
TomTom announce TomTom Go, a personal navigation unit for the car. TomTom GO integrates TomTom's personal navigation software into a portable, cable-less design.
The 3.5” LCD touch-screen unit comes pre-installed with maps and using the included car mounting kit, which is simply mounted on your car windscreen or dashboard you can access maps and colour 3D navigation views, as well as voice-guided instructions in a language of choice.
Style conscious consumers can choose from several different coloured front plates to accessorize their navigation solution. While the unit purports to offer 5 hours of continuous use before you'll need to recharge it.
TomTom GO will be available from late Spring/Early summer and be priced around the £500 mark.
TomTom has also announced the launch of its latest version of its PocketPC software - Navigator 3 that features updated maps and new itinerary planner that allows planning for multiple stops on one route.
The recommended retail price for TomTom Navigator 3 Wireless GPS including car kit is £249, including VAT. The standard GPS version including car kit is available for £199, including VAT.
