Following on from the 300G last year, Ricoh has announce the Caplio 400G Wide a 3.24 megapixel and 3x wide zoom lens digital camera. A 3.4x digital zoom gives up to 10.2x zoom photography while the new wide 28 - 85mm lens should be enough to satisfy most.
The 400G also benefits from the same characteristic tough body of its predecessor, which make it possible to take pictures in sandy or dusty environments. Ricoh also boast that it is even possible to wash the camera with water. The 400G Wide can also take pictures under water at a depth of 1m or less, for up to 30 minutes. The camera is lightweight, easy to handle and has padding protection on either side and around the lens to provide superb durability when being used outdoors.
With a shutter response time of 0.14-second and a fast start up time of 1.8-second, the Caplio 400G Wide should be quick when it comes to taking action shots and the 1cm Macro facility will allow photographers to get up close.
The camera also features six scene modes including Portrait, sports, landscape, night scene, text and high-sensitivity and comes with 8Mb of internal memory with the option of using further memory via an SD Card slot. The camera will have a recommended retail price of £349.99 inc and will be released in next 4
