Could mean more accessories for Philips gear

Philips sees the future in iPod accessories it seems with the announcement that it is buying iPod accessory manufacturer DLO.

Although no financial details where disclosed on the transaction, analyst Eric de Graaf a Petercam told Reuters that he expected "Philips to pay between 30 and 50 million euros".

The move could mean that the company will develop more accessories for its range of MP3 players, or concentrate on producing more iPod accessories to fit its range of televisions, music players and other home devices.

So far the company has dabbled in the iPod accessory arena launching a portable DVD player with iPod dock so users can play movies directly from the iPod earlier this year.

The sale is expected to be completed later this year.
