Philips launch 1.5Gb MP3 player

PRESS RELEASE: Following in the footsteps of the HDD100, Philips' small and stylish HDD060 audio jukebox lets you listen to your music collection wherever you go. Aimed directly at the enormous number of PC users, the sophisticated player has a manageable 1.5GB hard disk drive that stores up to 375 MP3 or 750 WMA tracks and can also be used to transport data files. It gets better, with the single lithium ion battery delivering a massive ten hours of listening time between charges, so you won't be caught short even on longer journeys!

The large display presents information clearly, even in bright conditions and has a white LED backlight for use in dark environments. Double-action SuperScroll search keys make navigating music libraries and the slick user interface extremely simple. You can search track by track or fast-scroll to a desired song by holding the search key down.

For further convenience SuperPlay offers one-touch playback of the entire music collection or major categories such as 'Artists' or 'Albums', without having to first select playlists or individual tracks. Playlists themselves are effortless to create and edit allowing you to organise tracks into a desired order. Transferring music and other files is from a PC quick and easy using a single, high-speed USB1.1 connection that is supplied.

Outstanding features include a Dynamic Bass Boost - that enriches performance with deeper bass - and a five-band equaliser with 'Rock', 'Pop', 'Jazz' and 'Classic' presets.

Small, attractive and compact, the HDD060 weighs less than 95g thanks to its robust yet ultra-light die-cast moulded magnesium body. For comfort and secure portability a stylish neck-strap is supplied, allowing you to wear the eye-catching player and easily access controls when on the move.

In high street stores now, the HDD060 is available for an approximate price of £169.
