Kodak announce EasyShare Printer Dock 6000

Eastman Kodak Company today made printing Kodak digital pictures at home truly one-button simple with the introduction of the Kodak EasyShare printer dock 6000. At the Photo Marketing Association's (PMA) Annual Conference and Trade Show, Kodak unveiled the device that, with the press of just one button, produces durable, borderless 4" x 6" Kodak prints in as little as 90 seconds directly from the new series of Kodak EasyShare digital cameras, with or without a computer.

The printer dock 6000 — the world's first combined printer-and-dock for digital cameras - gives consumers the ultimate in printing convenience and the immediacy of Kodak prints at home. It combines all the benefits of an EasyShare dock, including one-touch picture transfer and battery recharging, with continuous tone thermal dye transfer printing. The printer dock 6000 will be available in April at a suggested retail price of £199. Combined refill paper and ink cartridge packs will have a suggested retail price of £19.99 for 40 prints.

“The printer dock 6000 brings the promise of the entire Kodak EasyShare system to life,” said James McConnell, Regional Business General Manager EAMER, of Kodak's Digital & Applied Imaging division. “Combining the ease of our popular camera docking system with the quality, durability, and longevity you expect from Kodak traditional photographic prints, the system establishes a new benchmark for home digital photo printing. The printer dock 6000 is an example of Kodak's commitments to drive output in all forms, make digital easier and continue to develop new businesses and new markets.”

The printer dock 6000 is a convenient printing option for users of the 6000/600 series of Kodak EasyShare cameras. The results of Kodak's efforts to provide consumers with traditional photographic quality in the digital world, the printer dock 6000 produces prints with vivid colour. In addition, the printing process automatically adds a special XtraLife laminate coating, which helps ensure the prints are durable, waterproof, and lasts a life time— just like prints from traditional photographic processes. The printer dock 6000 uses ink that dries instantly.

Consumers can use the new printer dock 6000 as a stand-alone photo printer, connect it to their computer to upload photos or even attach it to their TV to view a slide show.

The printer dock 6000 comes equipped with a sample photo paper and cartridge system that enables consumers to print 10 Kodak pictures. Because refill packs come with a color cartridge that also contains the XtraLife coating and a matching quantity of photo paper for 40 4" x 6" borderless photo prints, users don't have to worry about running out of supplies in the middle of a project.

The printer dock 6000 is part of the award-winning Kodak EasyShare digital photography system that includes cameras, docks, software and other accessories. The EasyShare system makes getting high quality photo prints effortless. More information on Kodak EasyShare products is available at http://www.kodak.com/go/EasyShare.
