TV networks all across the states and UK have been joining forces to launch their programmes on the Internet for download. CBS in the US are the next to say it is moving online.

The TV network has partnered with a number of companies to deliver the TV shows across the web. The new Joost, Microsost, Time Warner, AOL, Sling Media and CNET Networks are some of the companies involved in the online distribution.

David Letterman, currently only available on Sky in the UK will be offered online as part of CBS programmes. As well as access to CSI and all of its offshoots - including CSI: Miami and CSI: NY - online viewers will be able to watch other shows such as Survivor, news and sports.

This comes after Rupert Murdoch's News Corp and NBC Universal said they were joining forces to launch a new online venture aimed at challenging the popularity of video sharing site YouTube.
