It seems music fans are happy to pay extra for DRM free music according to a new online poll.

In a recent poll on Pocket-lint, 62% of people said that they are prepared to pay extra for music that is Digital Rights Management free.

The move will be sweet music to Apple and EMI who have announced that Apple's music download store will be offering DRM free music that can be copied to any device without restriction from next month at the cost of an additional 20 pence.

The move, which followed Apple CEO Steve Jobs' open letter to the music industry earlier this year, is likely to prompt other music publishers to follow suit.

In the poll, readers where asked "Will you pay extra for DRM free music?" only 38% said they wouldn't.
