MGM and United Artists join Apple iTunes store

More movies move online to Apple's iTunes Store

You may have noticed, and the official announcement is expected today, that MGM and United Artists have started appearing on Apple's iTunes Store.

Apple's move beyond music has now encapsulated some of the best movies of all time, listed amongst the New Releases on iTunes. The movies so far include Mad Max, Rocky, The Thomas Crown Affair, Dances With Wolves and Robocop - you may notice these are MGM Titles - United Artists has only added Ronin.

They both follow in the steps of Lionsgate, Paramount and Disney to sell movies on Apple's iTunes Store. It is still unsure if they will use Apple to distribute actual new releases, this is yet to be seen. But word from the otherside of the pond does suggest companies like Wal-mart may be blocking this move so only "catalogue" films will be available online.

We will keep you posted with the official announcement.
