Robot cleans swimming pool in 90 minutes

10 April 2007 12:40 GMT / By Ryan Haynes

If you're fed up of cleaning the algae from your swimming pool already this year, then your family of home robots could get bigger.

Created by the same company that bought us the robot vacuum cleaner and floor washer comes the iRobot Verro Pool Cleaning Robot.

The friendly bot requires no installation you just drop it in the pool (don't worry it doesn't need to breathe) and using artificial intelligence the robot begins to clean from floor to waterline in 60 to 90 minutes.

It has been designed to improve the circulation of pool chemicals and water temperature, while reducing pool filtration system run-time.

Two models are available immediately Verro 300 and Verro 600 — priced at $799 and $1199.

No word as yet on UK prices.
