The Lexus LS 460 has been declared World Car of the Year 2007 by a group of international motoring journalists.
The LS 460, launched in January, was chosen from an entry list of 28 contenders nominated by jurors from 22 countries.

WCOTY jurors considered the car to be “the embodiment of the Lexus brand's motto – the pursuit of perfection” and “classically luxurious, with modern execution, unquestioned quality and more than ample power”. Praise indeed.

The jurors also praised the Lexus for including a novel automatic parking system and an 8-speed auto transmission, which helped it pip nearest rivals the Audi TT and the latest Mini to first place.

The World Car of the Year Awards began in 2005. The two previous winners are the Audi A6 and the BMW 3 Series.
