Google has announced today the launch of its Google desktop for Mac users.

The new desktop will work in exactly the same way, however gives users of Apple's OS X an alternative to Apple's own Spotlight search feature.

The new application, which is free to download will allow you to search email, files, music, photos, and more as easy as searching the web with Google.

The application is accessed by pressing the apple key twice and brings up single interface with web pages loaded via your browser.

Also included in the download is Google updater which offers you the ability to update other Google mac products such as Google Earth and Google's photo sharing software Picasa.
