Sony is offering a helping hand to home cinema fans who don't want to deal with all the cables that go with it.

Launched at its Media Experience Event in Rhodes, the Bravia Theatre RHT-G800 is a all powerful TV stand that under its glass top-plate disguise is a touch-panel control and a complete surround sound system, with speakers.

According to Sony, all you have to do is place your TV on the stand, put your DVD or Blu-ray player and any other device such as a satellite/cable box on the shelves provided, and connect them with cables hidden away in the structure of the G800. It will then do the rest.

Tech specs include two subwoofers, 5.1-channel home cinema surround system built-in to a TV stand, Sony S-Force PRO Front Surround technology, 6 sound fields: Standard, Cinema, News, Sports, Music and Night Mode, Sony S-Master digital amplification delivers 5 x 50W, plus 100W for the subwoofers, HDMI interface and the ability to accommodate up to four additional components such as DVD players/recorders, set-top boxes, and games consoles.

The new stand will be available from May in the UK for around £600.
