Clinton YouTube video creator named, then quits

The creator of the Hillary Clinton spoof on YouTube that featured the senator in the 1984 Apple advert has been found and sacked according to reports online.

The spoof which promoted Democrat Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has been credited to Phil de Vellis, who worked for a firm connected with the Obama campaign, Blue State Digital.

He supposedly worked alone on the project but resigned as soon as he learned he was about to be named.

"This ad was not the first citizen ad, and it will not be the last", he wrote. "The game has changed."

"The video has shocked the political world into realising that the web and social networking sites in particular are something to be listened to and addressed, rather than pigeon holed as a bunch of nerds", an industry insider told us.

The video, which surfaced earlier in the week on YouTube has been watched over 1 million times.
