Logitech has announced the launch of two new webcams for notebooks, expanding its growing portfolio of webcam peripherals.

The Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks is according to the company "perfect for first-time webcam users" and comes with a suggested retail price of £29.99 making it Logitech's most affordable notebook PC webcam to date.

The Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks is also a compact webcam, offering a 1.3 megapixel sensor with glass lens. The Deluxe webcam has a suggested retail price of £39.99.

Both webcams offer Logitech’s enhanced RightSound Technology with new noise suppression, which helps improve sound quality, and RightLight Technology, which enables crisp, clear image quality even in dim lighting.

Both also support Windows Vista and are expected to be available in the UK from April.

Logitech is hoping that the increase in laptop users will boost sales of the dedicated product. In 2006, worldwide shipments of notebook PCs reached over 80 million, an increase of more than 27% over 2005, and analyst firm IDC estimates that worldwide sales of notebook PCs will exceed 100 million units for the first time in 2007. Clearly Logitech wants to grab a piece of that market.
