Mmmm, pie. We love pies. What's that? Oh, "pi", Darn...

I got very, very excited when I heard about Pi Day. I naturally assumed it would be full of chicken and mushroom or steak and ale flavoured delights, or perhaps even a cheeky little cherry number.

Alas, no.

This is a day celebrating pi. Good ole 3.14 (etc, etc). Without it there'd be no Jaffa Cakes or Wagon Wheels or (heaven forbid) Krispy Kreme donuts or for that matter, pies! (Food obsessed? Moi?) Okay, so that's not strictly true, but it is the number that no maths student has ever been able to forget. And it is the basis for our understanding of so many things like ... well, like ... um ... circles and stuff.

If you want to learn more about pi, you can't. A least not here - that part of the site is still under construction (maybe even these people don't understand it). But what you can do, is see 1 million digits of pi. Our favourite bit though is definitely the pi merchandise and, even better, the pi ecards.

Go on, celebrate something pointless today send somebody a Pi Day greeting.
