Olympus mju 780 compact digital camera announced

New mju with 5x optical zoom

Olympus has announced an update to its mju range in the guise of the mju 780 giving consumers the chance to get in on the action in all weather conditions.

The new metal-bodied weatherproof camera features a 5x optical zoom, and a 7.1 megapixel sensor in its compact body.

Because of the increased zoom capabilities, Olympus has integrated Dual Image Stabilization. According to the company, combining a mechanical image stabiliser with high ISO settings ensures images are doubly protected against unwanted blur caused by fast-moving subjects or camera shake.

Other features include a 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD, an ISO value up to 1600, a movie recording mode up to 30fps, and an xD Picture Card slot.

As you would expect for a consumer-focused camera, there are 20 scene modes – including Candle, Available Light and a variety of underwater modes to make taking pictures easy.
