Could you live without your computer for an hour, what about a day?

That's what one website is asking internet users to do; to agree not to use their computers for a whole day in March.

Called Shutdown Day, the site is asking people to be apart of what it calls "One of the biggest global experiments ever to take place on the Internet".

At the time of writing so far just 16,046 people have said they won't use their PC on 24 March compared to 2421 who said they will.

"The idea behind the experiment is to find out how many people can go without a computer for one whole day, and what will happen if we all participate!", the website's owners say on the site.

However, the site isn't passing favour with everyone. Gadget blog Engadget is calling its readers to boycott the plan.
