Sharp unveils massive Blu-ray home theatre system

Available in Japan only, sadly

Sharp has dropped a mammoth home theatre system in to the Japanese market.

The 7.1 Blu-ray system combines a BD-MPC70 with seven speakers to create the definitive home cinema.

The speakers are capable of producing 175W of power, surrounding you with the sound from your Blu-ray discs or DVDs.

Our Japanese isn't good enough to read all the specs from the Sharp website, but the player delivers 12big/148.5MHz video DAC and 24bit/192kHz audio DAV, and provides two digital and two analogue audio inputs, as well as one HDMI socket.

The system will be available in Japan for around 1,050,000yen (£4500), but we don't know when, or if, this will come to the UK.
