We're on a serious note today, prompted by something astonishing we heard last week. Apparently, the current Miss England, one Eleanor Glynn, has been refused a contract by all the major London modelling agencies because she is too big.Patently she is not (see our picture, courtesy of www.missengland.info). But all this follows the recent furore at London Fashion Week and around the globe about so-called size zero models and the effect the fashion industry and the media in general has on image-conscious consumers.
Eating disorders are rife, in both men and women, young and old, but it is particularly the young and impressionable that this site aims its advice at.
There are many myths surrounding eating disorders and this site does well to shatter them. It's a site that should be circulated and advertised as widely as possible, to let people know that there is help available. Other good sources include NHS Direct and the BBC Health pages.
