Google replies to Googe name change

Those with true romance and poetry in their soul will see the subtlety immediately

Google's Doodler, Dennis Hwang, has replied to reports that he can't spell on the company's blog.

Pocket-lint reported that yesterday's Google Doodle on the search engines homepage left out the "l" in google. In a homage to Valentine's Day, the logo's second "g" was replaced with a strawberry dipped in chocolate.

However Hwang, says that the logo did contain the "l". So where was it? The stem of the strawberry supposedly.

"When you look at the logo, you may worry that we forgot our name overnight, skipped a letter, or have decided that "Googe" has a better ring to it", Hwang said in a post on the company's blog. "None of the above. I just know that those with true romance and poetry in their soul will see the subtlety immediately. And if you're feeling grouchy today, may I suggest eating a strawberry."

So there you have it, it was intentional.
