Creative announces new Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook

Creative has announced what it says is the worlds first ever PCMCIA Sound Blaster card for laptop users.

The card, which will plug into any laptop computer's PCMCIA slot will be able to deliver 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound. The unit also featuring digital inputs and outputs.

The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook also enables greater performance with hardware-accelerated EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD and 3D positional audio for games. Gamers looking to expand on the experience further can also use the virtual surround sound over stereo headphones option that the card offers via Creative Multi-Speaker Surround (CMSS 3D) support.

The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook is also THX-certified and uses on-board DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX decoding or when connected digitally to a home cinema receiver system.. Amazing CMSS 3D technology provides captivating virtual surround sound for DVD movies over headphones.

If that wasn't enough the card also support stereo input and playback to the 4 stereo outputs at up to 24-bit/96kHz.
