Original MP3 player inventor releases The Blade
Portable multimedia player measures only 7mm thick
12 February 2007 10:52 GMT / By Amber Maitland
The company that claims to have created the first MP3 player ever in 1997, MPMan, has launched a new portable media device.
The Blade plays both music and video that can be watched on its small 1.5-inch screen.
The device itself is dinky, measuring about 7mm thick and weight about 30 grams. It has two earphone connections on either side so that two people can listen to audio at the same time.
Not only does it play MP3s, WMA, and OGG music files and video, it also functions as a voice recorder and FM radio.
It comes in 1GB and 2GB capacity, which is enough to store up to 4.5 hours of compressed video, and has a battery that lasts at least 12 hours.
The Blade is available now for around £80.
