Vodafone brings eBay to your mobile

Application allows direct access to your account

Vodafone has struck a deal to bring eBay to its handsets across Europe, exclusively in some markets, but not in the UK.

The eBay application will be free to download through Vodafone live! and will be embedded on certain handset to be sold later in the year.

Italy gets the new service first, although the company has not released a specific launch date yet.

The little application will give customers the ability to browse and use eBay as they would had home - search, browse, bid, and buy fixed-price items.

Vodafone's is not the first such service. In November, Bango and Bonfire Media rolled out their Pocket Auction application across Europe.

And in the UK, O2's i-mode lets customers easily access their eBay accounts directly through the i-mode start page.
