For those rooms where the 40-incher looks a bit small, Pioneer has released the 60-inch plasma TV, the PDP-607XD.

The new set has not just one, but two HDMI inputs as well as a PC input so you can watch photo slideshows or video stored on your computer; other connectivity includes component, S-video, A/V, three Scart, and PC sockets.

It incorporates Pioneer's seventh generation design with new technology like Pureblack Panel 2 and Direct Colour Filter 2. Features include new PIP modes, as well as a ISF calibration options so that you can have the plasma finely tuned to your home cinema environment.

Also integrated is a DVB-T tuner with CI slot so that you can insert your top up or pre payed TV card into it.

A contrast ration of 4000:1 and a brightness of 1000cd/m2 make this an impressive model, which will probably cost you in the region of around £6,000
