Dell handheld console rumours quashed

If Dell is planning on developing a gaming handheld device in the future, it's keeping those plans tightly under wraps.

The rumours were started when PC Plus reported that Global gaming chief Abizar Vakharia replied to a question about a possible handheld, "You know, that's definitely one that's on the radar screen, but we have no plans to talk about anything today".

When pressed for a statement, a Dell spokesperson told Reg Hardware, "Dell is constantly evaluating new technologies".

"However, we have no plans to launch a Gaming handheld at this time."

Neither statement confirms nor denies that Dell is planning a handheld console; it simply leaves the answer rather up in the air.

Pocket-lint's take on this? Dell executives are probably kicking around the idea, but probably aren't developing it yet.
