Works with Walkman as well

Sony has finally succumbed to the popularity of Apple's iPod player and released its first iPod accessory.

Although the MP3 player competes directly with the company's Walkman range, chiefs have decided that if you can't beat them, join them.

Currently only available in America the iPod Audio Docking Station CPF-IP001 promises to "Turn your iPod music player into a full-blown stereo system".

Featuring a connector that is compatible with a variety of iPod models, the CPF-IP001 iPod audio docking station allows you to simply plug in and press play to stream the entire library of stored music from your iPod.

Luckily for Walkman users, an additional line input enables you to connect a second audio source. The unit comes with a remote control, and subwoofer.

The iPod speaker dock is available from Sony's Style Store and costs $249.99.
