Start them early

VTech and Leap Frog are both hoping to revolutionise the way 3-7-year-olds learn with the launch of new keyboards.

VTech's offering, the Whizz Kid, promises to teach a range of curriculum based activities including reading, maths, music, colours and even citizenship by linking to a PC.

It is also accompanied by 40 pre-printed activity sheets, an on-the-go learning cartidge and a PC CD Rom. The system doesn’t require a PC to be linked up to, but users who do will get extra enhanced 3D learning features.

The LeapFrog ClickStart: My First Computer, plugs directly into a television and comes complete with a mouse and keyboard to aid learning.

Both systems feature games from Dora the Explorer, Thomas & Friends.
