The latest channel on offer on Nintendo's Wii video game console is the News channel.

Thanks to an agreement with the Associated Press, Wii owners can now view and sort news any way they like.

At the moment, the lineup of channels includes the Mii Channel, the Photo Channel, the Wii Shop Channel, Forecast Channel, Internet Channel, and now News Channel.

Instead of picking up a paper in the morning, you can pick up your Wii Remote and start scrolling through the headlines, to read only the content you want.

Stories will be listed under Business, Sports, Arts/Entertainment, Technology, and Science/Health. They can also be grouped by region instead of category.

Using WiiConnect24, stories are updated frequently, so that a fresh crop of news is ready for consumption in the morning.
