LG launches the Jar monitor

Part of the Fantasy series

LG is releasing monitors from its Fantasy series to the UK in a slow trickle. The latest to emerge from Korea is the Jar, a 19-inch model.

The Fantasy series is comprised of the Ring, the Eclipse, and Jar, which are designed as statement pieces that look like more than your average monitor.

The Jar has a rounded base that emits a soft red light and compliments the glossy black of the screen surround.

It provides a contrast ratio of 2000:1, a response time of 4ms, a resolution of 1280 x 1024, brightness of 300cd/m2, and a viewing angle of 170 degrees.

In addition, you can hook up your input devices via DVI connector.

The first model to be released in the UK was the Ring; we're still awaiting the Eclipse, which we first saw at IFA in August.

“There’s currently a big emphasis on creating stylish living spaces and we feel the Jar is perfect for those who want to add a touch of luxury to their home or workplace”, said Louise Walsh, product manager at LG.

The monitor costs £209 from Komplett.co.uk.
