The BBC is to make some of its programming available on Google Video and may even eventually include adding clips to YouTube.

According to MediaGuardian.co.uk, BBC Worldwide is looking to put contextual advertising on its specially-branded channel to fund the venture.

Apparently the Corporation hopes to raise interest in its programming by posting clips on to the video sharing sites.

Google Video already has deals with content providers including ITN, A&E, and Buena Vista (Disney) in Europe.

Although most sites use their Google Video channels for promotional material, MediaGuardian.co.uk suggests that the Beeb could charge for programming in the US Google Video, which offers pay-per-view and pay-per-download options.
