Nintendo sells over 200,000 consoles in UK

Following Nintendo's US figure announcement earlier in the week, Nintendo has announced its UK figures today showing that the Nintendo Wii has been its best ever console launch.
According to the games company, Nintendo’s Wii and DS games flew off the shelves at Christmas with the consoles topping the must have gifts chart.
Chart Track, the official tracking company in the UK for games sales is confirming that Nintendo sold over 200,000 Wii consoles in the UK over the Christmas and over 500,000 Nintendo DS consoles.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has also been confirmed has the most popular game with Nintendo saying that over 70% of Wii owners purchased the game with the console.
The Nintendo Wii launched across Europe on 8th December 2006 and retails at an estimated retail price of £179 with Wii Sports.
Nintendo DS and DS Lite are available across Europe at an estimated retail price of £89-99. It launched in March 2005.
