Seagate releases Mac version of Maxtor OneTouch III Mini Edition

Portable hard drive now Mac friendly

Seagate is releasing a Mac version of its Maxtor OneTouch III Mini Edition portable storage drive.

The device is designed to help automate backup and protect the data once it's been transferred.

It's bundled with automated backup, data protection, and file synchronisation software. The sync utility ensures that business travellers have the same data on their home and office Macs.

Maxtor DriveLock is also embedded into the firmware so that data is restricted if the drive is lost or stolen, or the hard drive removed and tampered with.

Designed with durability in mind, the OneTouch has black rubber side panels to keep it from sliding around on smooth surfaces, and to protect it from vibration.

Available in 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB versions, they start at $130.
