A bold and admirable attempt to halt climate change.

18 January 2007 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

The destruction of the world's rain forests is a large contributing factor towards global climate change - a subject never far from the headlines these days.

Colour it Green is a campaign to preserve what's left of the planet's rain forests - rapidly vanishing areas of the world which not only play host to myriad species of animals and plants but also act as Earth's "lungs". Without them, the future looks bleak.

For £25 you can sponsor an acre of rain forest and in return you'll get one of the little green squares with your name on (global fame at last!). Natuarlly the aim is to colour the whole globe green.

So, dig deep and do some good.
