The only thing it can't do is make a phone call

Archos has made an upgrade to its 404 portable media player and has added a built-in mini camcorder.

With a 30GB hard drive, the device can record up to 75 hours of video in MPEG4 format with VGA resolution, and take still shots with a 1.3MP camera.

Images can be framed and viewed on the 3.5-inch screen.

There's also an option DVR Station accessory that turns the 404 Camcorder into a DVR so you can record directly from the TV, DVD player, or cable box.

Designed originally as a portable media player, the other features are what you'd expect to find, with video and music playback.

The 30GB 404 Camcorder is available now for around £250.
