Xbox 2 launch possibly pencilled in for CES

Bill Gates has confirmed that he will be giving a keynote speech at the coming CES in Las Vegas in January next year.

The show, which is a hot bed for new product launches is also expected to be the moment Microsoft announces its Xbox 2 plans to the public.

Gates will speak on Wednesday, January 5th at 6.30pm PST, the night before the opening of the CES event.

Gates planned to use the show two years ago to launch the current Xbox, however due to delays had to wait to the following year before showing a near-final design. With Sony ramping up plans for the PlayStation 3 commentators believe is will be the platform for which Microsoft to strike back.
