Sonos has announced that the latest update to its software adds support for Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Vista, so that songs protected with Windows DRM can now be played through the system.

The software, version 2.1, is the lynchpin for the entire Sonos wireless multi-room music system, and now lets users play music downloaded from Napster, Rhapsody Online, and MTV's URGE, as well as the Zune Marketplace; internet radio is also supported.

Other tweaks to the software include improved playlist and volume normalisation support for iTunes 7.0.

The Sonos Digital Music System is activated with a full-colour Controller remote, so that users can select their music from anywhere in the house.
