Following on from the company's Bluetooth picture viewer it launched some time ago, Sony Ericsson has announced that it is offering a similar device that will allow you to stream the music from your phone to any Hi-Fi.

The new device, called the Bluetooth Music Receiver MBR-100, will come with two different cables, an RCA cable and a 3.5mm input cable so it can fit almost any audio device at home or in the car and means that once your phone is paired to the MBR-100, you simply have to walk into its range to accept an automatic invitation on your phone screen to play your music as loud as you want.

As the music plays through the speakers you can use your phone as a remote control, with the ability to play, pause and skip to next track.

Compact, light and portable, the MBR-100 has a rechargeable battery that Sony Ericsson say will last up to 12 hours of playback and 300 hours of standby.

The company has also announced the launch of a new Bluetooth headset, the HBH-PV705 Style Edition.

Weighing 14 grams and resting on your ear with a soft ear hook, it boasts long talk and standby of 12 and 300 hours respectively. It will be available in Q1 this year.

  • Hi - I'm wondering if you know of any device that makes it capable for me to "broadcast" via bluetooth to multiple mobile phones concurrently. I would like to provide an audio broadcast to an audience within a specific distance area. Posted by Victor Cui, singapore
