Dell launches Axim X50 and X50v

Dell has upgraded its X30 with the X50 range of handhelds with three new models. The new Axim handheld computers offer Intel XScale® Processors up to 624MHz, integrated Wi-Fi 802.11b and Bluetooth as well as both CompactFlash(tm) abd SDIO Now! expansion slots.

The Axim X50v Wireless 624MHz model has a 3.7-inch high-resolution VGA screen and an Intel 2700G Multimedia Accelerator for optimized 2D and 3D graphics and DVD-quality video playback.

The X50v also comes with an optional video-out cable to connect the Axim X50v to video projectors to display presentations, spreadsheets and documents.

The Axim X50 416MHz and X50 Wireless 520MHz models has QVGA screens, integrated LEAP and WPA security features and headphone/headset full duplex jack to support headsets, VoIP and voice-recognition applications.

The Axim X50 family members are the first Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs to feature Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software for Pocket PCs with the new Windows Media® Player 10 for Mobile. Customers can effortlessly load music play lists and movies for viewing/listening whenever they want, be it during their commute or work out at the gym.
