CES 2007: Toshiba joins forces with MTV to bring Urge to Gigabeat MP3 players

Music service adds another player

7 January 2007 19:59 GMT / By Stuart Miles

Toshiba has announced that it has signed a deal with MTV networks Urge digital music service.

The news means that its line of Gigabeat MP3 players will work with the music download service.

The deal means that owners of the Gigabeat 60GB S series and the 30GB V series will be able to access the service and use its monthly subscription package.

The Gigabeat series has been slow to take off in the UK in a crowded market against players from Creative Sony and of course Apple.

Earlier this year, Toshiba announced that the MP3 player would provide the main technology behind Microsoft's Zune MP3 player.
