Audi R8 goes disco
R8 My Car

The Y-front moisteningly beautiful Audi R8, due out in spring, has gone all disco.
The 187mph two-seater sports car will come with an optional interior lighting package (who knew we needed one of them?) that will see the addition of LED cabin illumination and an array that bathes the mid-mounted engine compartment in light, so chavs can look on in wonder at precise eight-cylinder German engineering.
Yes, after you’ve spent £76,725 for a car that has a glass bonnet behind your noggin, it does make sense that you’d want to show it off. You also get 24 front-mounted LED lamps and, count ’em, 186 LED brake lights.
Inspired by the design of the Sydney Opera House, the R8’s head lamp units incorporate 12 LED daytime running lights on each side that follow their pronounced curves.
Customer deposits for the new Audi R8 have been taken by the Audi since its world public debut at the 2006 Paris Motor Show in September, and all right-hand-drive production slots have been allocated right through to mid-2008. With looks like this, it’s not hard to see why.
