Google seems to update its range of software all at the same time. In addition to recent changes for Google Apps for Your Domain and Picasa, Google has now added features to Blogger and Desktop.

Designed for people who don’t know a lick of HTML and can’t imagine a reason to learn, Blogger now lets you add photos, lists, and feeds easily.

You can also create a complete unique template with the colour scheme you want, or use one of the new ones on offer, as well as create a private blog that only people who you invite can access.

In addition you can label your posts, so that you can group related ones together so that they’re easier to find.

Google’s Desktop has received a number of new festive gadgets to enliven your machine with the joys of the season. The Christmas Tree gadget lets you decorate with lights, bows, stockings, and ornaments, while the Countdown to New Year displays exactly that.

For those of you fond of monitoring your processor, a new GX’mas tree lights up brighter and brighter depending on your CPU usage.
