Samsung uploads latest point and shoot, the Digimax D103

Average specs

Samsung, without any warning, has uploaded a new camera to its UK website. The D103 looks like a simple point and shoot, but gives in to the megapixel pushers with a resolution of 10Mp.

The D series is designed for entry-level shooters, and this new model features fairly average specs.

It has a 3x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD screen on the rear, and shoots MPEG-4 movies at 30fps.

Close shooters will appreciate the 4cm minimum focussing distance in macro mode, while more advanced photographers will find the manual functions useful.

Eleven Scene Modes promise that the camera will have every situation covered, while its Function Modes offer greater flexibility while shooting.

The ISO ranges from 80 to 1000 for clear shots in dim conditions, while an Effect button gives the creative amateur Colour Effect, Highlight, Photo Frame, and Composite Shot to play with.

Look out for it in shops now.
