Wippit adds BBC Audiobooks to download service

Buy and download vintage BBC comedy to your portable device

UK-based digital download site Wippit has signed a deal with the BBC to bring BBC Audiobooks to the site.

First to be available on the site is comedy from Little Britain, Mitchell and Webb, and The Mighty Boosh, although with Blackadder, Morecambe and Wise, Monty Python's Flying Circus, and Alan Partridge.

More audio files from radio and TV comedy will be available shortly; in addition, BBC Audiobook's science fiction and fantasy archive will be added.

This will see Dr Who, Blake's 7 and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy being made available.

Wippit also plans to introduce reading's from Michael Palin's Himalaya as heard on Radio 4, and children's audio like Magic Roundabout.
